When you look within yourself, simply and directly,
Not through the ideas of how to look, or what to look for,
You see a movement of demand.
Demand for knowledge
Demand for meaning
Demand for pleasure
Demand for freedom
The list is endless, watch and see.
Demand is desire
Desire is demand
Can we, then, look into the nature of this movement, the movement of desire?
How does it come to be?
How, at the end of one, a hundred others are born?
How well it hides itself behind ideas, hopes, reason?
The conflicting nature of simultaneous desires?
Just to see. To see directly. To see without knowing.
Without turning direct perception into conclusion, idea, description.
Can we?
Can we keep observing, even if the sky falls?
Our mind is a vast infinite field of thinking, imagining, desiring, pursuing, questioning, answering,
All in all, the ultimate camouflage to what-is.
Can this field, this ‘sky׳, be empty of itself, absolutely free?
Can this question be asked not as a desire for knowledge, for understanding, for achieving “higher state”,
But rather, as natural expression of not knowing?
You, the one who demands,
Who are actually one with the demands,
How can you act upon the demands?
Any such act must have an intention, reason,
Which indicates a projection of idea,
Which is the essence of desire…
I don’t wish to overwhelm with words, ideas, knowledge,
I am sharing with myself the beauty of observation into myself,
By seeing the essence of desire without acting upon it.
Try it, see for yourself.
