If only understanding the nature of thinking was mankind's top priority - to understand, learn, explore, and inquire into it. From that understanding, all problems in the world, from the biggest global issues to the most intimate psychological conflicts of human beings, would be solved.
Why is this said with such confidence?
Because it is very clear that problems, issues, and conflicts are caused by thought. Conflicts of opinions, beliefs, interpretations, preferences - all are activities of thought. It's also very clear that the tool used and exercised to solve problems in the world, in your world, in the world around you, is thought itself. People think about problems. They suggest ideas about them. They follow plans created by thought. So, thought is both the creator of conflict and the attempted solver of conflict.
It is said that if thinking becomes mankind's top priority for exploration, learning, and inquiry, these problems will cease to be. This confidence stems from the fact that anything thought creates - whether productive or problematic - is imagined, unreal. Imagination is the language of thought; the two are one. Only clarity regarding the nature of thought can reveal this. When that which is considered a conflict and brings much wasted energy and suffering is seen as unreal, it loses its power and validity, and it cannot act.
I don't know if this was conveyed properly. I don't know if you listened with your heart. But all that is not really important. It was said, it was heard, if you are there, which is here, and whether or not understanding and exploring, inquiring, learning into the nature of thought will be at the top of your priority - this is for you to find.
