What question, represents best, your state of observation?
And in that, I mean, when you live through the day, regardless of your activities and experiences,
What is your interest in things, in feelings, in thoughts, in people etc.
Is it the thing itself?
The action, the experience, the feeling, the thought, the person...
Or is it your own view, your own preferences, your own judgment, your own evaluation, your own prejudice, your own knowledge of that thing?
If you ask yourself this, by looking inside yourself now
, as you read this article,
What question would represent best your state of observation/attention about it?
Would it be:
What does the writer try to say?
What can I get out of it, or, how can it help me?
Who is reading this?
Why it attracts me, or, rejects me?
Or any other question.
And as you go through the day, to be aware of it too.
See if that question remains or changes.
To me,
The question that best represents my state of observation is -
What is?
And more specifically -
What is now?
Observation that comes from your heart, opens the sky of your mind and makes it sensitive to a realm of beauty in everything.
It is not a tool, a skill, a mean to an end,
Rather -
It is the thing itself.
“The observer is the observed” (~K)
Thank you for your explanation.
I would like to tell about a context if you don't mind, suppose i have a desire to have pleasure now, I'm not yielding the pleasure, at the same time I'm not denying the urge of desire (not ending it) i simply allowing it to grow and watching all the subtle reactions that mind do. In other words I'm keeping it at edge but there was no effort because I'm not suppressing or fighting it. Suddenly after a while the urge is gone infact the thing is loosing it's strength. I suppose the same applies to all pains, anxieties, anger and other psychological problems. When i enquired what was happened it was observing what is at that movement, therefore mind suddenly realises that in observation of what is (inner & outer) there is solution for all of the psychological problems that man has. It doesn't mean i try to observe or making an effort to observe because of the reward it gives me but mind understands the importance of observing what is therefore observation happens, naturally mind wants to observe what is and at the same time the noise of the self is there of which mind considers as what is. Does that makes any sense; My understanding might be wrong, i feel i need more clarity.
