What is real questioning,
When it comes to self-inquiry?
First,
For a question to be real -
It must have no foundation
Of knowledge.
That means -
It arises from not knowing.
In our education,
We accepted, that a question -
Needs to be met by an answer.
In self-inquiry it is not so!
A question in self-inquiry,
Needs to be met by itself.
The only thing that a question
in self-inquiry can meet, is itself.
The flowering of itself,
in clarity.
The very sensitive and careful
investigation,
Of the question itself,
Of the content of it,
Or the lack of content,
Of the questioning, that is -
Is it asked over an intent of any kind?
Who is asking that question?
And it's not enough to feel, of course –
“I ask”
But -
In a kind of visualized way -
Where is this question coming from?
Is it coming from the wandering mind?
Is it coming from the quiet heart?
Yet all those are just words...
So to let a question be,
Is the most profound introduction to truth.
It's the most profound awakening,
To the reality of that question.
And all this time,
The one base, the one reason,
The one direction, the one source,
Of this question is -
The art of self questioning
